The revision, the requirements and the dates
Know what the ISO 45001 revision changes, and what to fix before it lands.
The second edition is at draft stage, not published. Your certificate today is against ISO 45001:2018. This site reads all 40 requirements that apply now, maps each one to the public draft, and gives you a dated plan from the certificate you hold to the one you will need.
Read from the real rules, not invented. Every answer ISO 45001 Revision Checker gives points to the official rule behind it, so you can check any line yourself. Read from ISO 45001:2018 and the public record of ISO/DIS 45001.

What applies to you, and when
Answer six questions about the certificate you hold and the audits in front of you. The check returns the standard that applies today, the date to plan for, the transition window as an estimate, and the three actions to take first. It never sends your answers anywhere.
Scope and dates, not conformity
It applies the public stage record and the certificate dates you enter. It does not audit your system, does not decide whether your certificate body will accept a transition plan, and does not replace the IAF arrangements when they are published.
What the public record actually shows
A draft, not a standard
Stage 40.60 means the DIS ballot has closed. The committee now decides whether the draft goes to FDIS or back for another ballot. Nothing can be certified against it.
Read the stage recordNew 6.3, 8.1.3, 8.1.4, 8.1.6
The public draft contents show a standalone planning of changes clause, a new occupational health clause, a new return to work clause and a consolidated external provider clause.

Two certification-body summaries agree on the direction: work-related well-being, worker diversity, psychosocial hazards, remote and platform work, and climate impacts are named more explicitly.
What changesThe requirements that apply today
These are the clauses of ISO 45001:2018, including Amendment 1:2024. Each has its own page with the requirement in our words, the evidence an auditor asks for, the common failures and what to do before the revision. The "draft" column is where the public contents put it.

What buyers ask
What is ISO/DIS 45001?
ISO/DIS 45001 is the Draft International Standard for the second edition of ISO 45001, the occupational health and safety management system standard. ISO records it at stage 40.60, close of voting, with the ballot closed on 9 September 2026. A draft is not a published standard and cannot be certified against. Read the revision record.
When will the revision be published?
The planning date used on this site is 12 September 2027. It is an estimate, not an ISO commitment: the ISO page says the draft is expected to replace the 2018 edition in the first half of 2027, and DNV expects the second half of 2027. The next public checkpoints are stage 40.99, 50.00, 50.60 and 60.60. The free check uses the estimate and labels it.
Do I have to transition my certificate now?
No. A certificate issued today is against ISO 45001:2018, including Amendment 1:2024, and remains valid to its expiry. The transition starts when the new edition is published and the accreditation arrangements take effect. No IAF transition document for this revision was found in the public record on 18 October 2026, so the three-year window used here is an assumption, labelled as one.
What changes in the draft?
The public record shows a moderate revision. A new 6.3 Planning of changes, a new 8.1.3 Occupational health, a new 8.1.4 Return to work, a consolidated 8.1.6 for external providers and a consolidated 10.1 Continual improvement. It also expands hazard identification for psychosocial, remote, platform, occupational health and climate hazards, and adds diversity and well-being duties across several clauses. Read the clause map.
Is this the ISO 45001 text?
No. This is a reference and a checker written in our own words, with a source pointer on every line. The licensed ISO 45001:2018 text is not reproduced, and the DIS text is not public. The site tells you which part of each answer comes from the held standard, which from the public draft record, and which is an estimate.
What do I get for USD 299?
The transition kit: a 40-row obligation register, the evidence list an auditor asks for, and a dated plan from today to publication and the estimated transition end, as PDF, CSV and XLSX. The labelled specimen shows five rows. The pricing page states the one-off price and what is free. The change watch is USD 29 a month and emails you when the rule, its guidance or its dates change.
The rules this is built from
Nothing here is invented. The 40 requirements that apply today are read from the held ISO 45001:2018 record, each with the evidence an auditor asks for and the ways it commonly fails. The revision layer is read from the public ISO stage record, the public draft contents and two named certification-body summaries. Where the record is silent, the page says so.

Where the record comes from
The clause record is the held ISO 45001:2018 requirement set, retrieved on 18 October 2026, with Amendment 1:2024 already carried in the two clauses it amends. The revision record is the ISO standard page 89698 and the public DIS contents, both retrieved on 18 October 2026, with two certification-body summaries used only for the direction of the changes and named on every page they touch. It is not written from memory or from a search snippet. Where the public record does not show a change, the page says so rather than inventing one. Read the sources and the method.
