The sources behind every line
There are three kinds of source here, and the pages say which one a line comes from: the held standard that applies today, the public record of the draft, and two named certification-body summaries used only for the direction of the changes. The licensed ISO 45001:2018 text is not reproduced. The ISO/DIS 45001 requirement text is not public and is not reproduced.
| Source | Kind | What it is used for | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| ISO/DIS 45001, standard page 89698 ISO | official record | Edition 2, 48 pages, stage 40.60 Close of voting, close of voting 2026-09-09, ISO/TC 283. The page says the draft is expected to replace ISO 45001:2018 in the first half of 2027 and that it is in the enquiry phase. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| ISO/DIS 45001:2026 sample document, table of contents and foreword oSIST / standards.iteh.ai (ISO/CEN parallel processing sample) | public sample of the draft | The sample carries the DIS cover, contents and foreword. It shows the clause titles and the foreword statement that this second edition cancels and replaces ISO 45001:2018 and is technically revised; the foreword's list of main changes is not yet filled in. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| ISO 45001:2018, Occupational health and safety management systems, Requirements with guidance for use ISO | published standard, held | The requirement set held and read by this product, including Amendment 1:2024 on climate change. The text is licensed; every requirement line here is a paraphrase, not a quotation. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| DNV, Revision ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management System DNV | certification body summary | A public summary of the expected DIS changes, including the new 6.3, the new 8.1.3, 8.1.4 and 8.1.6, the well-being and diversity emphasis, and the transition position. DNV expects publication in the second half of 2027 and a three-year transition, neither confirmed. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| DQS, ISO 45001 Revision: the overview DQS | certification body summary | A second public summary, consistent with DNV on the new clauses and the psychosocial, well-being, diversity, remote-work and climate emphasis; it also records the free-of-charge training and PPE points. Both summaries say the draft can still change. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| IAF mandatory documents, transition arrangements International Accreditation Forum | accreditation body record | No IAF transition document for this revision was found in the public record on the retrieval date. The transition end used here is therefore an assumption of three years from the planning date, labelled as an estimate, not an IAF requirement. | Open 2026-10-18 |
| Compliance library, ISO 45001:2018 control set The Art of Service | held framework export | 40 requirements, each with the evidence an auditor asks for and the ways it commonly fails. The export was verified (source_class licensed) and is the base of every clause page. | Open 2026-10-18 |
Guidance in the same family, named not held
ISO 45003 (psychosocial risks), ISO 45004 (performance evaluation), ISO 45006 (infectious disease) and ISO/PAS 45007 (climate change) are guidance in the same family. They support topics the draft names, but they are not certification standards and this product does not hold their text. They are named here so a reader knows where the guidance stops and the requirement begins. See the ISO catalogue.
How the sources are used
- The requirement today is written from the held ISO 45001:2018 clause record, with Amendment 1:2024 already carried in 4.1 and 4.2. The evidence and the common gaps come from the same held record.
- The draft structure is taken from the public DIS contents, which show clause titles and page numbers, and from the DIS foreword, which says the second edition cancels and replaces the first and is technically revised.
- The direction of the changes is taken from DNV and DQS, named on each card or clause page that uses them. Neither is the standard. Both say the draft can still change.
- The dates are from the ISO stage record. The planning date and the transition end are ours and are labelled as estimates. No IAF transition document for this revision was found on 18 October 2026.
