Plain answer
When will the ISO 45001 revision be published?
The planning date used here is 12 September 2027, an estimate rather than an ISO commitment. ISO says the draft is expected to replace the 2018 edition in the first half of 2027; DNV expects the second half of 2027.
The public record
ISO records the draft at stage 40.60, close of voting, with the ballot closed on 9 September 2026. The next recorded stages are 40.92, 40.93 and 40.99, then 50.00 and 50.60 for the FDIS, then 60.00 and 60.60 for publication. ISO has not recorded a date for any of them.
Why the dates differ
ISO's page says the draft is expected to replace ISO 45001:2018 in the first half of 2027. DNV says the exact date is not communicated and publication is likely in the second half of 2027. A planning date is a decision under uncertainty, not a prediction. This site uses 12 September 2027 and says so wherever it appears.
The transition
If publication is in the second half of 2027 and a three-year transition follows, the transition would end around 12 September 2030. No IAF transition document for this revision was found on 18 October 2026, so the three years is an assumption, not a published deadline. The free check labels it.
What to do with the uncertainty
Plan two dates: the one you would use if publication is early, and the one you would use if it is late. Keep the work that is right under either edition, and put the clause references on a list to update at publication. The kit does this in one plan.
